Senior Emergency Medicine Officer – Regional Hospital

About the role

Central Gippsland Health is looking for a dedicated Senior Emergency Medicine Officer to join its busy Emergency Department in Sale, Victoria. The role offers the chance to practice in a regional hospital serving the Wellington Shire while enjoying the coastal and alpine lifestyle of Gippsland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based emergency medical care to a diverse patient population.
• Lead, mentor and supervise junior medical officers, registrars and medical students.
• Support senior management in prioritising patient flow and departmental performance.
• Perform credentialed clinical procedures and participate in resuscitation and trauma care.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Emergency Department.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• General, provisional or limited registration with AHPRA.
• Minimum five years post-graduate experience, with demonstrated experience in emergency medicine.
• Experience in teaching or supervising junior staff and students.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
