Senior Associate – Operational Risk (LMI Superannuation & Insurance)

About the role

This permanent position supports the second‑line oversight of non‑financial and operational risks within ANZ’s Retail Australia value chain, focusing on the LMI Superannuation & Insurance portfolio. You will work closely with senior risk colleagues to ensure robust risk identification, assessment, and control design across processes, systems and data.

Key responsibilities

• Review and challenge risk assessments, controls and risk‑related documentation for designated retail activities.
• Analyse risk data, identify emerging themes and assess the effectiveness of control designs.
• Provide risk opinions, recommendations and escalations where necessary.
• Track remediation actions, evaluate root‑cause analyses and monitor delivery against agreed timelines.
• Contribute to risk reporting, governance activities and continuous improvement of risk processes.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance, risk, law or a related discipline.
• Approximately 4+ years of experience in financial services, operational risk, compliance, audit or related fields.
• Strong analytical capability, sound risk judgement and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of non‑financial risk frameworks and relevant regulatory expectations.
