Security Service Technician

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in security, building automation, energy efficiency and decarbonisation, is seeking an experienced Security Service Technician for its Sydney Service Team. The role suits someone who enjoys varied work, strong customer relationships and hands-on technical problem solving. You will service and maintain advanced security systems across a portfolio of commercial customers, manage small to medium upgrades and fit-out projects, and can grow into project delivery, commissioning, technical leadership, sales and management.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair security systems across customer sites
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and system inspections
• Deliver small to medium security upgrades and fit-out projects
• Commission newly installed security systems
• Prepare quotations for repair works and recommended upgrades
• Build strong customer relationships and provide expert technical support
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal project teams
• Support the wider Projects Team across new and existing customer sites

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar security technician role
• Australian working rights
• Current NSW driver licence, current security licence and current cabling registration
• White Card (construction induction card)

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding experience
• Sound networking, systems and PC knowledge
• Experience installing, servicing and commissioning electronic security systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to work independently within a team
• Experience with Gallagher, CCURE or Integrity is highly regarded but not essential
