Security Consultant - Built Environment

About the role

WSP's Technology Systems team is looking for an experienced Security Consultant to cover all security in the built environment, including design, security risk management, counter terrorism measures and cyber security. The team works across the APAC region and collaborates with multidisciplinary colleagues on projects for clients and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design electronic cyber secure security systems such as cameras and card readers, and write advisory reports covering risk assessments, product market scans and strategy.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes for clients.
• Provide specialist security advice across electronic, physical and operational/management security.
• Produce drawings, specifications, calculations, schedules and design reports for integrated security systems.
• Model cameras using advanced simulation software and coordinate security system design with ICT and electrical engineering and architecture.
• Advise on physical security of buildings (doors, ironmongery, walls, glazing, fencing, perimeter protection, blast protection, vehicle barriers, lighting, site selection and user journeys).
• Deliver security risk management and strategy consulting, including threat and vulnerability risk assessments, CPTED assessments, crowded places assessments, hostile vehicle mitigation strategies and security master plans.

Required profile

• 5-6 years of experience in Australian security and/or ICT projects within large consulting firms.
• Commercial-grade building security system design and knowledge of security standards and codes.
• Ability to design security systems as part of an integrated, converged network with ICT engineers.
• Security consulting license and sound understanding of risk-led consulting based on ISO 31000 and HB 167.
• Clear, well-structured design and advisory reports.
