School Based Nurse (Broken Hill)

About the role

The Far West Local Health District is seeking a School Based Nurse to join its Primary Health Care Schools Based Nurse Program. Working across designated primary and secondary schools in the Far West region, you will help promote health and wellbeing for children, young adults and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with host schools, families, external organisations and social care providers.
• Promote healthy behaviours and improve health literacy within the school community.
• Identify health, wellbeing and social needs of students and coordinate early‑intervention assessments and referrals.
• Deliver preventive health services and reduce the impact of disease in a respectful, culturally‑sensitive manner.

Required profile

• Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2.
• Commitment to work in a remote/rural setting.
• Ability to engage with diverse school communities and external partners.
