Sales Specialist – Business Development

About the role

Join the Parcels, Post & eCommerce division of Australia Post as a Sales Specialist focused on business development in South‑East Melbourne. You will be on the road meeting customers, hunting new opportunities, closing deals and then handing them over to account managers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building a qualified pipeline across South‑East Melbourne and the peninsula.
• Meet weekly call‑grid and pipeline targets, selling the full Australia Post and StarTrack range.
• Develop and deliver value propositions, pitch to small and medium businesses and close complex solution sales.
• Build C‑level relationships and collaborate with Solutions, Pricing, Bids & Tenders, Legal and Operations to finalize contracts.
• Onboard new customers for three months and hand over clean, managed accounts.

Required profile

• Proven new‑business hunter with strong acquisition sales experience.
• Comfortable working in the field, asking questions to understand customers before pitching.
• Track record of closing complex solution sales and building C‑level relationships.
• Ability to learn local market dynamics and interpret territory data.
• Confident with Excel and cost‑benefit selling.
• Current driver’s licence.
