Reservations Agent - Part Time

About the role

Stamford Hotels & Resorts, which manages a portfolio of luxury hotels in Australia, is looking for a part-time Reservations Agent to cover parental leave for 12 months at its Adeliade CDB location. The role is based in the contact centre at Stamford Plaza Adelaide, serving as the first point of contact for room reservations, hotel offerings and brand drivers across the Adelaide properties. It is a fixed-term position until September 2027, with the possibility of moving to a permanent position depending on business needs, operational need and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Handle phone, email and online booking enquiries professionally and promptly
• Process individual and group reservations accurately
• Liaise with internal departments so that guest arrivals and special requests are met smoothly
• Upsell room types and packages to enhance guest experiences
• Maintain guest records and keep data accurate in all systems
• Support daily and monthly reporting requirements
• Oversee room inquiries, reservations, confirmations, cancellations and operating yield management to achieve the highest rates and occupancy
• Convert inquiries into contracted business and meet or exceed performance standards
• Build rapport with guests by using their history

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' proven experience in hotel reservations or front office operations, including supervisory experience
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Availability to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Legal right to live and work in Australia
• Experience providing prompt, efficient service including upselling is advantageous

Required skills

• Familiarity with property management systems (Opera desirable)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
• Strong organisational and time management skills
