Purchasing Officer

About the role

Australian Unity is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join its Finance & Strategy team. The role supports the financial management of the Group Technology function by handling purchase orders, invoices and receipting with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Create purchase orders, process invoices and manage receipting activities.
• Support timely resolution of billing, purchasing and invoice‑related queries.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve processing issues.
• Monitor and triage service requests and shared mailbox activity.
• Maintain accurate documentation, registers and billing process records.
• Ensure purchasing and invoicing comply with financial controls, company policies and service level agreements.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and ways of working.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented finance, purchasing or accounts payable professional.
• Structured, methodical approach with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Comfortable working with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Experience in purchasing, accounts payable, finance administration or a similar role.
• Exposure to technology‑related invoicing, contractor costs or vendor payments is highly regarded.
