Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure (Canberra)

About the role

Our client, a Tier‑two civil contractor, is looking for a Project Engineer to lead complex civil infrastructure works in Canberra/ACT. The role involves managing large‑scale earthworks, concrete, road and bridge projects, with opportunities to progress to a Senior Project Engineer position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers on $10m+ civil projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Coordinate design, construction, and commissioning activities for earthworks, structures, and heavy civil works.
• Maintain compliance with OH&S policies and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Communicate progress and issues to stakeholders and senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience on civil projects valued over $10 million.
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and react quickly to site challenges.
