Private Equity Analyst / Associate (Melbourne)

About the role

We are seeking a Private Equity Analyst / Associate to join a leading Australian mid‑market private equity fund in Melbourne. The role offers early responsibility in investment execution, portfolio management and fundraising, providing direct exposure to senior decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new investment opportunities and conduct thematic research.
• Build and maintain financial models, perform valuation analysis and support transaction execution.
• Participate in commercial, financial and operational due diligence.
• Prepare investment memoranda and materials for investment committee meetings.
• Assist senior team members with fund development, capital raising and investor communications.
• Support portfolio company management teams on value‑creation initiatives.
• Collaborate with advisers, financiers, business owners and management throughout transaction processes.

Required profile

• 1.5–6 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, direct investment or corporate development.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
• High commercial judgement and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team‑first mentality and ability to work in a high‑performing environment.
