Principal Drainage Engineer – Relocation to Perth

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Principal Drainage Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Perth. The role offers relocation support and the chance to work on major infrastructure projects across mining, energy, defence, transport and water sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical drainage designs, stormwater management plans and hydraulic assessments for large‑scale projects.
• Provide expert input on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using 12D, DRAINS and other modelling tools.
• Mentor junior engineers, review designs and ensure compliance with Australian standards.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to provide trusted technical advice and support work‑winning activities.

Required profile

• Approximately 10+ years of experience in stormwater and drainage hydraulics.
• Proven track record delivering major infrastructure projects within a consulting environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commercial awareness and experience with Australian rainfall and runoff guidelines (ARR 2019).
