Operations Manager - Avani Living Queen's Wharf

About the role

Avani Living Queen's Wharf Residences in Brisbane is looking for an experienced, energetic Operations Manager to work closely with the General Manager and lead daily hotel operations. The role covers Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance, and suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and balances guest service with strong commercial results.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and inspire the Front Office, Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to maintain high property standards and memorable guest experiences.
• Provide operational leadership across the hotel, including rotational roster coverage with flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
• Lead operations during peak trading periods and manage guest feedback, issues and continuous improvement.
• Support brand activations, property events and special initiatives.
• Monitor property performance, presentation and profitability, and review budgets, costs and revenue opportunities.
• Conduct regular financial reviews, including P&L analysis, to support commercial outcomes and owner returns.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a hotel Department Head, Operations Manager or in a similar senior operational leadership role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach and develop teams.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs and achieve operational targets.
• Understanding of hotel operations, guest service and commercial performance, with a passion for hospitality.
• Professional presentation, proactive problem-solving and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Working rights in Australia or New Zealand.
