Operations Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to join our established operations team. The role involves managing import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring precision and exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, carriers and overseas offices to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Customs regulations and internal QMS procedures.
• Organise transport, monitor shipments and meet customer service KPIs.
• Maintain accurate shipment records, tracking information and system updates.
• Process invoicing within required timeframes.
• Review shipment files for accurate costing and profitability.
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding updates, delays or changes.
• Complete company collections using a company vehicle.

Required profile

• Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics (essential).
• Solid understanding of export operations and documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive, customer‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• Dangerous goods knowledge is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with freight management systems such as CargoWise.
• Strong understanding of Australian Customs regulations and export documentation.
