Offensive Security Consultant

About the role

As an Offensive Security Consultant at Mantel, you will join a growing cyber security team to help clients identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities. You will conduct penetration tests, analyse gaps, and work alongside experienced professionals to improve client security postures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform large‑scale and targeted penetration testing projects for enterprise customers, covering web, mobile, desktop, network and system environments.
• Execute black‑box, grey‑box and white‑box source‑code‑assisted tests, document findings and recommend remediation actions.
• Produce detailed reports that summarise findings, prioritise risks and provide actionable recommendations.
• Communicate results to technical and non‑technical audiences and support clients in understanding security requirements.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest vulnerabilities, exploits and cybersecurity trends, contributing to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience running multiple types of penetration tests (network, web, mobile) for customers.
• Foundational understanding of networking, operating systems and web application security principles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify vulnerabilities in complex systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit and Nmap.
• Ability to review application source code to spot security issues in business logic, authentication, input handling and data processing.
• Experience with AI‑focused pen testing and AI security tools (highly desirable).
• Programming skills for scripting, tooling and proof‑of‑concept development (highly desirable).
