Security Engineer – Operations

About the role

As a Security Engineer – Operations you will manage and continuously improve GWF’s cyber security capabilities across enterprise and cloud environments. This hands‑on role blends technology, people and process to deliver measurable security outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate security alerts, suspicious activity and incidents, coordinating containment, eradication and recovery.
• Administer, maintain and optimise security technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra ID, Zscaler and vulnerability management platforms.
• Conduct threat hunting and proactive investigations to mitigate emerging threats.
• Operate vulnerability management processes, coordinate assessments and drive risk‑based remediation.
• Participate in security reviews of projects and provide practical recommendations.
• Deliver security awareness initiatives, phishing simulations and targeted training.
• Develop scripts, integrations and workflows to automate security processes.
• Support security improvement initiatives, strategic projects and roadmap activities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant technology discipline; security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, MCSE Security are highly regarded.
• Experience working within enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments with solid understanding of monitoring, logging and security operations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to translate technical risks into business guidance.
• Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities to prioritise actions and deliver outcomes.

• SIEM, endpoint protection, intrusion detection technologies.
