Northern Territory Leader – Corporate & Commercial

About the role

Marsh is seeking a commercially driven senior leader to head its Corporate & Commercial business in the Northern Territory, based in Darwin. This hybrid role requires at least three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Marsh’s Corporate & Commercial portfolio across the Northern Territory, building market presence and delivering sustainable growth.
• Manage a portfolio of key corporate and commercial clients, ensuring outstanding service and long‑term relationships.
• Coach, develop and lead a high‑performing team through clear direction, delegation and performance management.
• Drive business plans, revenue targets and profit objectives while maintaining strong financial discipline.
• Oversee renewal, broking strategies, claims management and client retention initiatives.
• Collaborate with insurers and Marsh’s national and global resources to maximise client value and identify new growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of insurance products, relevant legislation and industry best practices.
• Proven experience managing key accounts and leading high‑performing teams in insurance or financial services.
• Leadership capability with the ability to engage, influence, coach and develop others.
• Excellent negotiation, problem‑solving and delegation skills.
• Professional accreditation such as Tier 1 FSRA Compliance, Associate membership of The Institute, and Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (NIBA) admission.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of insurance contracts, the Insurance Contracts Act and Trade Practices Act.
• Ability to develop and execute renewal and broking strategies.
• Proficiency in managing claims and client retention programmes.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities.
