National Account Manager

About the role

Metcash is seeking a commercially‑minded National Key Account Manager to own and grow key customer relationships, win new business and shape profitable commercial outcomes across its Food Service and Convenience business.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow a portfolio of important customer accounts.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities.
• Make informed commercial decisions across pricing, stock and profitability.
• Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and present actionable insights.
• Analyse stock velocity and account information to identify opportunities.
• Coordinate tender processes and prepare customer presentations.
• Collaborate with suppliers, department heads and branches.

Required profile

• Proven background in account management, preferably within foodservice or FMCG.
• Confidence negotiating new and existing commercial arrangements.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of supporting profitable outcomes.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills.
• Proactive, positive and customer‑focused mindset.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting and customer presentations.
• Collaborative and accountable approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
