About the role
As a Monitoring Operator in the Translink Operations Centre, you will be the eyes and ears of Queensland’s public transport network. Working from the central hub, you will monitor real‑time operations, identify disruptions and provide accurate updates to internal and external stakeholders to help keep the network running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Provide real‑time information on network status, delay severity and outage progress to stakeholders.
- Use the suite of monitoring tools and systems to track the passenger transport network and detect notable events.
- Escalate high‑severity disruptions to the appropriate line manager according to the disruption matrix.
- Liaise with frontline customer service teams to supply support and information as required.
- Work on a rotating roster covering a 7‑day week, including shift penalties for out‑of‑hours work.
Required profile
- Strong critical‑thinking and sound judgement, able to make timely decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse audiences.
- Ownership mindset, organised and able to deliver outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
- High integrity with a commitment to follow processes, manage risk and uphold governance standards.
