Medical Affairs Associate – Consumer Healthcare

About the role

This hands‑on Medical Affairs position sits at the intersection of science, compliance and commercial execution within a well‑known consumer healthcare brand. You will enable compliant product promotion, strengthen product credibility and support speed‑to‑market for both existing and pipeline products across ANZ.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve marketing materials to ensure compliance with TGA requirements, Advertising Codes and internal standards.
• Develop, maintain and update claims evidence files, keeping substantiation current, accurate and audit‑ready.
• Provide guidance to Marketing on compliant claims wording, risk assessment and substantiation requirements.
• Support advertising approvals to enable timely go‑to‑market execution.
• Partner with Marketing to translate scientific evidence into compliant, compelling product communications.
• Act as a trusted scientific advisor, balancing regulatory compliance with commercial objectives.
• Collaborate with Regulatory and cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve claims and compliance queries.
• Identify and engage Key Opinion Leaders, providing scientific and compliance guidance for interactions and educational initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Medicine or Pharmacy (MD or registered pharmacist required).
• Experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Scientific Affairs, Sales or related fields within complementary medicines, consumer health, FMCG health or pharmaceuticals.
• Working knowledge of TGA regulations and advertising requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret regulatory requirements practically.
• Effective communication style with ability to influence without formal authority.

Required skills

• Experience reviewing advertising materials and developing claims evidence files.
• Familiarity with KOL engagement or healthcare professional interactions (desirable).
