Mechatronics Engineer (Advanced Pneumatics)

About the role

Join the Intelligent Masks team at ResMed to develop next‑generation sleep technologies that combine sensing, electronics, embedded intelligence and advanced pneumatic systems. You will work across the full product development lifecycle, from concept to functional prototype and early‑stage verification.

Key responsibilities

• Drive development of exploratory sleep‑related products, embedded systems and technology concepts from early ideas through functional prototypes.
• Design, prototype and integrate electromechanical subsystems that include physiological sensing, embedded electronics, firmware, signal processing and wireless connectivity.
• Develop and evaluate closed‑loop control systems and pneumatic/airflow‑management technologies such as valves, pumps, blowers and pressure‑control systems.
• Plan and conduct bench testing, experimentation and early‑stage verification, analysing results to guide product improvements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Industrial Design, Systems Engineering, Electronics, Firmware, Software, Clinical, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience developing mechatronic, electromechanical or embedded products.
• Hands‑on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, embedded firmware and debugging tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to make technical decisions with incomplete information.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
