Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Systems

About the role

The Devices Mechanical Engineering team at ResMed is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Pressure Systems sub‑team. You will develop components that deliver pressurised air for sleep apnoea and other respiratory therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop components while considering performance, manufacturability and user experience.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including industrial designers, electronics, software and manufacturing engineers.
• Build and evaluate prototypes using additive manufacturing and hands‑on fabrication.
• Design and conduct verification and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Perform risk management activities such as DFMEA and maintain accurate design documentation.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest or experience in fluid dynamics, acoustics, pneumatic systems, pumps/blowers or electro‑mechanical systems.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modelling (experience with Creo or any CAD package).
• ANSYS CFD for fluid dynamics analysis.
• Design of injection‑moulded components.
