Managing Partner - Accounting & Tax

About the role

Ziku Accounting & Tax, a suburban accounting firm with over 10 years of service and part of the wider Ziku Capital group, is looking for an experienced Managing Partner to lead its Accounting and Tax team. The role covers client engagement management, mentoring onshore and offshore staff and contributing to the firm's growth. It is based in Dingley Village, Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple client engagements, aiming for 90%+ on-time ATO lodgements, and act as a trusted advisor to clients
• Mentor and develop junior onshore and offshore staff
• Drive business development by pursuing new opportunities through targets shared with the Ziku financial advice and lending businesses
• In the first 12 months, run an efficiency program covering debtor collection, subscription revenue and offshoring of most individual tax returns to the Ziku Global offshore team
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and professional standards
• Collaborate with shareholders and senior leaders of the Ziku Advice and Lending businesses on strategic initiatives
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting and profitability against KPIs
• Represent the firm at industry events and conferences

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• CPA or CA designation required
• At least 3 years in public or private practice accounting, focused on personal and small-to-medium business taxation (sole traders, companies and trusts)
• Proven client management and business development with small-to-medium clients
• Experience managing 1-2 junior or senior staff
• Previous Senior Manager/Accountant role in a mid-tier or Big Four firm is highly regarded

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including complex GST and Division 293
• Proficiency with Xero and Xero Practice Manager
• Leadership, team management, client relationship management, business development and financial analysis
