Maintenance Officer

About the role

The Maintenance Officer supports daily operation and upkeep of the hotel’s facilities and equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working on a rotating roster within a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform painting, wall patching, minor carpentry, and general repairs across guest rooms and public areas.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to plumbing issues such as leaks, blocked drains, and toilet repairs.
• Support HVAC, BMS, motor, pump, lift, and commercial kitchen equipment maintenance and fault finding.
• Diagnose and resolve minor electrical faults in lighting, guest room systems, and hotel infrastructure.
• Ensure safe operation of fire safety systems, elevators, and other essential building services.

Required profile

• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to excellent service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for weekend and occasional public holiday shifts.
• Proactive, dependable, and capable of handling a range of work situations.

Required skills

• Previous maintenance experience including plumbing, painting, and general repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, BMS, motor, pump, lift, and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Competence in diagnosing minor electrical faults.
• Knowledge of fire safety system operation and maintenance.
