Logistics and Materials Handling Technician

About the role

Yara International is seeking a permanent full‑time Logistics & Materials Handling Technician for its Ammonium Nitrate operations in Karratha. The role is based in an industrial chemical production environment, handling heavy mobile equipment, bulk material, and strict safety‑critical processes.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and load Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Nitrate Solution in bagged, bulk and containerised formats.
• Operate ITCs, forklifts, conveyors and other bulk‑handling machinery, and carry out logistics‑area start‑ups and shutdowns.
• Work with external logistics providers to safely dispatch trucks and report equipment, process and product‑quality issues.
• Complete SAP transactions, purchasing requests, material movement permits and consignment documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in an industrial environment such as mining, oil & gas, petrochemical or manufacturing.
• Ability to work safely in a Major Hazard Facility and hold Australian/NZ citizenship or permanent residency.
• Hold tickets for Forklift, Integrated Tool Carrier (or similar loader), EWP, Work at Heights, Confined Space Entry and Gas Testing.
