Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist – Export

About the role

Join the Operational Care team within Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding division and manage export shipments from the first booking through to vessel departure and beyond. You will ensure accurate data, compliance, and timely communication for customers, carriers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Create export shipments in the system with precise data entry.
• Review shipping instructions for compliance, routing and rate accuracy.
• Coordinate with carriers, partners and internal teams to keep transport on schedule.
• Prepare and dispatch bills of lading, VGM filings and invoices within required timelines.
• Track shipments, inform customers of departures and handle deviations promptly.
• Manage consolidation (master) shipments through to completion.
• Update cost and revenue data, verify invoices and maintain accurate books.
• Resolve discrepancies, claims or disputes quickly and fairly.
• Monitor carrier and vendor performance and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in sea logistics export operations or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes and export compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Clear communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commercial awareness with a focus on cost and operational efficiency.
• Problem‑solving mindset and good judgment for escalation.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with shipping documentation, including bills of lading and export filings.
• Strong knowledge of export compliance and freight forwarding procedures.
