Key Account Manager – Capital Projects Australia (Pumps, Cyclones & Valves)

About the role

FLSmidth is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to drive capital sales growth for its Pumps, Cyclones and Valves portfolio across Australia. Reporting to the Capital Sales Manager – APAC – PCV, you will manage opportunities from early study through to tender, award and hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and convert capital project opportunities with EPCs and mining customers in Perth, Brisbane and across Australia.
• Maintain strong relationships with EPCs, engineering houses and mining operators to build a sustainable pipeline.
• Lead the full sales workflow: customer engagement, tender preparation, technical and commercial negotiations, order award and hand‑over.
• Collaborate with internal product, engineering, proposals and regional sales teams to create competitive solutions.
• Travel to customer and EPC sites regularly (≈50% travel).

Required profile

• Technical qualification in engineering, metallurgy, mineral processing or equivalent capital project experience.
• 4–5+ years of technical sales, sales engineering or business development in the mining/mineral‑processing sector.
• Proven experience working with EPCs and delivering capital projects.
• Strong commercial acumen, including tender preparation and negotiation.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior decision‑makers.
