Junior Data Engineer

About the role

Accent Group is seeking a curious and hands‑on Junior Data Engineer to join its Data team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their data career to build strong technical foundations while working with real‑world data in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Write and optimise SQL to validate, shape and troubleshoot data across pipelines and data marts.
• Partner with Data Engineers and Analysts to design and build new pipelines in Azure Data Factory.
• Support Databricks initiatives, including data processing, transformations and pipeline development.
• Maintain reliable data flows that support reporting, analytics and business initiatives.
• Contribute to data quality, validation and documentation for the pipelines you build.

Required profile

• Strong technical foundations with a genuine interest in data engineering.
• Hands‑on experience writing SQL (joins, aggregations, CTEs, window functions).
• Programming knowledge beyond SQL, preferably Python.
• About 1–2 years of experience in data engineering, BI, database development or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
