Senior Backend Engineer – AI & Harness Platform

About the role

This is a fully remote senior engineering position within an Australian AI‑native product company. The team builds an agent harness and platform that deploys AI into real business workflows, requiring strong architectural thinking and platform engineering fundamentals.

Required profile

• Senior or staff engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and building extensible, reusable code.
• Experienced in evaluating multiple system designs and clearly explaining trade‑offs.
• Comfortable using AI coding tools, while maintaining judgement to review outputs, design decisions, and production security.

Required skills

• Strong TypeScript experience with backend‑heavy product or platform engineering.
• Deep architecture judgement across scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering practices.
• Use of AI‑assisted development or coding agents.
