Junior Category Buyer – Sleepwear & Swimwear

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Category Buyer to manage Myer’s exclusive Sleepwear and Swimwear range. Working closely with the Senior Category Buyer, you will own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle and financial performance of the category.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute product strategies that align with Myer’s overall brand direction and target customers.
• Set competitive pricing architecture and monitor financial metrics to meet commercial goals.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity to ensure product relevance.
• Partner with Planning to build assortment plans, sourcing approaches and lifecycle management.
• Lead range development, order placement and performance tracking in collaboration with the sourcing team.
• Deliver category marketing plans and coordinate execution across visual merchandising and store planning.
• Support supplier negotiations and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Own budget, pricing and key performance indicators for the category.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Buying, Design, Planning and Store teams, and mentor junior colleagues.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience in a Buyer, Developer or Trainee role within fashion or retail.
• Strong product development and production knowledge with an eye for trends.
• Experience in sourcing, supplier management and commercial negotiations.
• Solid retail, financial and commercial acumen and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Relevant qualification in Fashion, Merchandising, Business or Commerce (preferred).
