Java Developer (Spring Boot, Azure Serverless)

About the role

Harvey Norman, Australia's largest retailer of lifestyle products, is hiring a Java developer to join its application development team based onsite in Homebush West. You will build and maintain robust, accessible and user-friendly applications for in-house systems on the Azure cloud and data centre platform, working in a cross-functional Agile team with close engagement with business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and develop Java, Spring Boot-based applications in an Agile team.
• Build applications using React (Hooks, Context API, Redux), JavaScript/TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
• Develop Azure cloud event-driven serverless applications using Logic Apps and Function Apps, with Docker containers.
• Develop and upgrade J2EE (EJB, JMS, JPA) applications.
• Improve the CI/CD pipeline, embed quality and follow coding standards.

Required profile

• Full-stack development experience.
• Ability to create scalable, high-performing applications with modern technologies.
• Collaboration and communication skills to work with backend, middleware, testing and support teams.
• Right to work in Australia; recruitment agencies are not used directly.

Required skills

• Java, J2EE (EJB, JMS, JPA), Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, Azure serverless.
• J2EE experience with JBoss or WildFly.
• SQL and NoSQL database design and development.
• Linux-based application platforms.
