IT Support Technician

About the role

Geekheads is looking for an IT support technician to join its existing IT team. The role strengthens the team by providing continual support to customers and helping improve the company-wide IT infrastructure and systems. It is primarily a first-line support position, focused on helping customers with software, hardware and other computer systems, including troubleshooting and remote access.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure software applications and computer systems
• Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, by phone and electronically
• Diagnose and solve hardware and software faults
• Research questions using available information resources
• Support, maintain and monitor internal systems
• Document resolutions for future reference
• Redirect or escalate issues appropriately

Required profile

• Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
• Dependable, enthusiastic and personable
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
• Previous experience in an IT helpdesk or support role is beneficial but not essential
• Full driving licence, as travel to customer sites for support and installations may be required
