Intermediate Accountant

About the role

An accounting firm in Brisbane’s CBD is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join a growing team serving clients in property, health and professional services. You will work across a varied portfolio, gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work while being supported by senior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, trusts and companies.
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS returns.
• Develop workpapers, perform reconciliations and support audit processes.
• Participate in client advisory conversations and handle day‑to‑day client liaison.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified, or actively studying towards qualification.
• Experience in an Australian public practice environment.
• Confident managing a varied client portfolio and eager to expand technical knowledge beyond basic compliance.
• Professional and personable in client interactions.

Required skills

• Financial statements preparation.
• Tax return preparation.
• BAS and IAS lodgement.
• Workpaper preparation and reconciliations.
