Hotel Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Hotel Accountant to join the ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street team. Reporting to the Financial Controller and supported by a Senior Finance Officer, this role blends traditional accounting duties with operational involvement in a dynamic hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities across the hotel, including accounts payable and payroll.
• Prepare bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations and monthly financial reports.
• Monitor outstanding accounts, support credit control, and post month‑end journals.
• Assist with budget preparation, audit requests and ensure compliance with accounting standards and Accor policies.
• Partner with department managers to identify profitability improvements and streamline accounting processes.

Required profile

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong attention to detail, methodical approach and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Full Australian working rights (no sponsorship).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial systems such as Opera Cloud, Zambion, PurchasePlus, Micros Symphony or SunSystems Cloud.
