Host - Langlands Restaurant & Bar

About the role

Langlands Restaurant & Bar, a Melbourne grill and dining room above the city, is looking for a Host after an extensive renovation and a renewed focus on dinner. As the first and last point of contact for every guest, you will welcome, seat and farewell guests, manage reservations and table flow, and build genuine rapport with them.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome, seat and farewell every guest warmly
• Manage reservations, waitlists and table allocations
• Coordinate the dining room from the door, working with the Venue Manager and front-of-house team
• Maintain accurate booking systems, table plans and guest communications
• Open and close the venue, including POS and till reconciliation
• Support private dining and special events
• Maintain presentation standards and comply with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements

Required profile

• Previous experience in a premium restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment
• At least 2 years of experience as a Section Waiter
• Warm, confident and engaging communicator
• Calm, organised and able to think ahead in a fast-paced service environment
• Current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate

Required skills

• Experience with POS or reservation systems (Infrasys experience highly regarded)
• Strong attention to detail in managing reservations and guest flow
