Hospital Porter – Patient Transport & Support

About the role

We are seeking an efficient, professional, and empathetic Hospital Porter to join Ward 4 East at Macquarie University Hospital. You will support the Step‑Down Cardiology and Angio Day service by moving patients, equipment and supplies safely and promptly throughout the day‑surgery environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and escort same‑day patients from reception or admission bays to angiography prep areas.
• Coordinate rapid theatre turnaround by transferring patients into hybrid imaging theatres in line with the daily schedule.
• Transfer recovering patients back to the Day Ward or recovery lounges, ensuring comfort after sedation.
• Move clinical kits, clean linens and sterile consumables into angiography labs to keep rooms fully stocked between cases.

Required profile

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a warm, reassuring manner for premium customer service.
• High physical stamina to push beds, chairs and heavy equipment throughout the shift.
• Strong time‑management and organisational abilities to adapt to a fast‑moving day‑surgery schedule.
• Willingness to obtain an Australian National Police Check, Working with Children Check and meet NSW Health Category A immunisation requirements.
