Head of Financial Accounting

About the role

Seven West Media is looking for a strategic, commercially‑mindset finance leader to join its Perth team as Head of Financial Accounting. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure robust, accurate and timely financial reporting while acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial and management reporting for the Group.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, journals, reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Provide insightful financial commentary and recommendations to the CFO and other stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and inter‑company reporting activities.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting and lease reporting in line with AASB16.
• Direct statutory reporting, including half‑year and year‑end financial statements.
• Coordinate relationships with external auditors and manage audit activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, business planning and ad‑hoc strategic projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals across accounting and shared services.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, controls and reporting.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Extensive post‑qualification experience in a commercial environment.
• Proven experience leading high‑performing finance teams.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, including statutory and management reporting.
• Experience working with auditors and handling complex reporting obligations.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
