About the role

The Head of Diversified Credit will lead the Line 2 Diversified Credit function within ANZ's Business & Private Bank. This senior position shapes the risk strategy for Retail SME and Wholesale credit portfolios, ensuring effective risk oversight while supporting sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Diversified Credit line of business within the Business and Private Bank function.
• Provide strategic leadership and set direction for credit risk management and portfolio quality across Wholesale and Retail SME portfolios.
• Oversee credit decisioning frameworks, governance, and stakeholder engagement across business and risk leadership.
• Drive risk culture, compliance, and alignment with regulatory and internal credit policies.
• Engage senior stakeholders and contribute to enterprise‑wide credit strategy and performance outcomes.
• Monitor portfolio performance, emerging risks and concentrations, ensuring timely insight, intervention and escalation on material risk matters.
• Promote a strong risk culture through constructive challenge, accountability and effective risk management across first and second lines of accountability.
• Maintain effective relationships with executive stakeholders, regulators and assurance functions, representing the bank's diversified credit risk position.
• Build and lead a high‑performing, inclusive team that develops capability, enables succession and delivers sustainable enterprise outcomes.
