Group Reporting Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Group Reporting, you will be a hands‑on member of Nearmap’s Group Accounting team, responsible for accurate, compliant and audit‑ready financial reporting across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end close, including balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal postings and variance analysis for assigned accounts.
• Manage the Group consolidation process and lead preparation of monthly and annual statutory financial statements.
• Coordinate external audits, respond to auditor queries and prepare supporting documentation.
• Handle direct tax and transfer‑pricing compliance, liaising with external tax advisors and the ATO.
• Monitor new accounting standards, assess impact and drive process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified with 4+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a Big 4 or tier‑2 consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and IFRS, with exposure to multi‑currency consolidations and tax matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a detail‑obsessed, systems‑thinking mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
• Familiarity with Salesforce
• Understanding of IFRS and AASB reporting standards
