Assistant Accountant – Financial Operations (Experienced)

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will support financial operations across multiple entities, handling both accounts payable and receivable functions. This full‑time, office‑based position reports to the Finance Manager and offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Process and review financial transactions, ensuring accurate coding and allocation.
• Support accounts payable and receivable, respond to supplier and customer enquiries, and reconcile corporate credit cards and expenses.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies, and prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close, journal preparation, and budget variance analysis.
• Support BAS preparation, statutory reporting, and compliance processes.
• Maintain finance system data, assist with system improvements, and document finance procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to meet month‑end deadlines and handle multiple entities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow internal control procedures.
