Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Join a complex, multi‑entity ASX‑listed financial services business as a Senior Financial Accountant within the Group Financial Control team. You will be responsible for group statutory reporting and will have early exposure to the CFO, Board and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries.
• Produce group‑level monthly reporting, including inputs to the CFO Report, quarterly forecasts and the annual Business Plan.
• Run month‑end GL close, including journals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Contribute to technical accounting papers for the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
• Maintain and develop group accounting policies and procedures.
• Support external audit as the primary point of contact.
• Drive process improvements across the group close and reporting cycle.
• Collaborate with divisional CFOs, Financial Controllers, international finance teams, FP&A, Legal, CoSec and Risk & Compliance.

Required profile

• Fully CA or CPA qualified.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident (no visa sponsorship).
• 2‑4 years of experience, preferably in Big 4 external audit with financial services clients or in Group Financial Control/Reporting of an ASX‑listed company.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial statement preparation.
• Detail‑focused, self‑managing and proactive.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Exposure to TechOne, OneStream, TM1 or similar systems (bonus).
