Graduate - Indirect Tax

About the role

We are looking for a motivated graduate to join our Indirect Tax team in Australia. You will support clients on a variety of indirect tax matters, gaining hands‑on experience across GST, stamp duty, fuel tax credits and land tax while developing your professional tax expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on indirect tax issues including GST, stamp duty, fuel tax credits and land tax.
• Prepare and submit ruling requests and other documentation to revenue offices.
• Assist clients with their lodgement obligations and liaise with the Australian Taxation Office.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, delivering service independently.
• Collaborate with other RSM divisions on joint engagements.
• Maintain and develop strong technical knowledge in indirect tax.

Required profile

• Business/Commerce/Finance degree with an Accounting major (or double degree with Accounting).
• Honest, ethical approach with strong communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Commencing CA qualification and completion of at least one Tax Institute module.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Australian indirect tax legislation (GST, stamp duty, fuel tax credits, land tax).
