General Manager – Moxy Sydney Pitt Street

About the role

The General Manager (Moxy Captain) will lead the new‑build Moxy Sydney Pitt Street, shaping the brand experience for guests and crew alike. The role blends operational oversight with creative guest‑centric initiatives to ensure a vibrant, profitable hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations, including rooms, food & beverage, rooftop bar, retail and meeting spaces, ensuring brand standards and profitability.
• Drive pre‑opening activities: build leadership team, establish culture, recruit, train and achieve operational readiness on the critical path.
• Manage budgets, labor flow, P&L, forecasting and capital improvement projects such as renovations and signage.
• Maintain the sensory experience – music, lighting, scent – and ensure public spaces are clean, safe and aligned with the Moxy vibe.
• Lead sales and marketing efforts, cultivate community partnerships, and leverage digital channels to generate demand.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive hotel experience, with prior General Manager or Hotel Manager role in a comparable or larger property.
• Proven track record in lifestyle, select‑service or high‑volume city hotels, especially through pre‑opening, new‑build or major repositioning.
• Strong expertise in rooms, food & beverage, revenue management, HR and quality assurance, including budgeting and SOP development.
• Ability to lead in a matrix organization, manage multiple projects simultaneously and build owner relationships.

Required skills

• Micros POS system proficiency.
• Project management and capital improvement execution.
• Financial analysis – P&L, budgeting, forecasting.
