General Labourer – Landscape & Civil Projects

About the role

CivilandScape is seeking an experienced general labourer to support a variety of landscape and civil projects across Sydney’s inner city and outer suburbs. The role involves hands‑on work on residential, commercial and high‑rise sites, requiring a professional appearance when interacting with clients and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Assist foremen and tradespeople with daily tasks, including site clean‑up and material handling.
• Construct walkways, patios, walls, fences, decks and posts; dig ditches, trenches and perform land‑clearing activities.
• Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns; load and unload tools, equipment and materials.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment such as chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, shovels, hammers and drills.
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication and cleaning of tools and machinery.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in landscape or civil construction.
• Current NSW White Card and solid understanding of NSW WHSE practices.
• Presentable appearance and good communication when dealing with clients and the public.
• Ability to work independently, efficiently and safely without direct supervision.

Required skills

• Operation of chainsaws, jackhammers and laser leveling equipment.
• Use of measurement tools, shovels, hammers, drills and other hand tools.
• Basic preventative maintenance of tools and equipment.
