Food Services Assistant / Cleaner

About the role

Seasons Waterford West is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Food Services Assistant / Cleaner to join its community on a permanent part-time basis. The role supports both the kitchen and cleaning operations, with shifts rostered around the busiest periods. It requires a minimum of 25 hours per week (generally around 5 hours per day) on a rotating roster across seven days, including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring menus and food production to uphold presentation, quality and service standards.
• Prepare, cook and serve food according to dietary, nutritional and cultural needs, together with the Chef and/or Cook.
• Help the Chef and/or Cook maintain, monitor and record Food Safety Program requirements.
• Handle, sort, store and distribute food items correctly.
• Follow direction on portion control, cooking standards and wastage, and comply with food and catering preparation regulations.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning, rubbish disposal and housekeeping.
• Follow and implement diet and care plan directives.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting commercial kitchens with volume cooking (hotels, healthcare or similar).
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction from the Cook/Chef.
• Unrestricted Australian working rights.
• Current national police check.

Required skills

• Safe Food Handling Certificate (essential)
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or National Certificate in Hospitality (desirable)
