Flooring Labourer and Installer

About the role

The Flooring Labourer and Installer role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Melbourne, VIC, supporting the installation of sprung timber sports floors for a range of sports venues and multipurpose facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of timber sports floors, including measuring, cutting, laying and fixing components.
• Prepare and clean work areas, handle and organise materials, and operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
• Support finishing activities such as sanding, applying coatings and line markings.
• Follow safety procedures, set up and pack down equipment, load and unload materials, and maintain a tidy, hazard‑free worksite.

Required profile

• Practical flooring or construction skills with ability to use hand and power tools.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety, safe manual handling and PPE use.
• Physical capability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable work ethic, punctuality and ability to work as part of a team taking direction from supervisors.
