Financial Analyst – All‑round Finance Role

About the role

This is a true all‑round Finance position reporting to the Commercial Manager in a fast‑paced Australian consumer goods business. You will partner with Sales, support month‑end close, and own the systems that drive financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily bank and intercompany loan reconciliations and prepare accurate journal entries.
• Support the Finance team during month‑end close and provide backup for Accounts Receivable and Payable.
• Analyse sales, margin, product and cost data to spot trends, risks and growth opportunities.
• Lead the annual sales budgeting process and run regular forecast reviews with national account managers.
• Measure major promotions against budget and report results clearly.
• Maintain and improve sales forecasting and reporting systems, ensuring data integrity.
• Build and enhance reports, scorecards and dashboards that drive actionable insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements and handle special projects as needed.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• CA or CPA qualification (or studying towards it) is preferred.
• Strong accounting foundation with solid reconciliation and journal entry experience.
• Excellent analytical and reporting abilities with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Hands‑on, proactive mindset and ability to work independently while influencing senior stakeholders.
