Finance Lead

About the role

A client of Chandler Macleod is seeking a Finance Lead to join its organisation in Perth CBD, reporting directly to the Finance manager. The role leads accounting, reporting, governance and business partnering functions in a complex corporate environment. Candidates should have built their careers in Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firms and reached manager level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accurate and timely statutory, financial and management reporting
• Give strategic financial guidance to senior business stakeholders
• Drive cost control, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance initiatives
• Oversee project controls and support major projects through financial governance and reporting
• Lead assurance, risk management and internal control activities
• Manage external audit requirements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
• Advise on technical accounting and compliance matters
• Build business partnering relationships and use automation, data analytics and digital tools to improve financial processes
• Mentor and develop finance team members

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification
• Previous experience in a Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firm is critical
• Demonstrated manager-level experience
• Essential experience supporting mining and resources clients through audit, assurance, advisory, risk or business consulting engagements
• Minimum seven years in technical accounting and financial reporting

• Automation, data analytics, Gen AI and machine learning applications
• Advanced Microsoft Office; SAP experience highly regarded
