Executive Director, Commercial – Broadcasters, Publishers & Platforms

About the role

The Executive Director leads commercial strategy, revenue growth and key industry partnerships for Nielsen’s multi‑million dollar media portfolio across Australia and New Zealand. This senior position drives sales performance, C‑suite engagement and contract negotiations with major broadcasters, digital publishers and ad‑tech platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Drive overall commercial growth and revenue strategy for Nielsen's Media portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.
• Lead multi‑million dollar contract negotiations, extensions and renewals for audience measurement services.
• Implement sales discipline, pipeline management and revenue forecasting across all account segments.
• Manage Nielsen’s response to competitive procurement processes, including RFIs, RFPs and open market tenders.
• Maintain C‑level engagement with major media owners and broadcasters such as TVNZ, Sky NZ, Stuff NZ, NZME, Seven Network and others.
• Expand strategic commercial partnerships with programmatic ad‑tech platforms including The Trade Desk, Eyeota, Index Exchange and Magnite.
• Spearhead commercial launch and market adoption of cross‑platform measurement and media planning tools.
• Build, mentor and inspire a high‑performing team of commercial and client service professionals.

Required profile

• 15+ years of commercial sales leadership experience within the media, data analytics and advertising ecosystem.
• Proven record of exceeding revenue targets, managing multi‑million dollar portfolios and negotiating enterprise contracts.
• Deep expertise in linear and digital video audience measurement, cross‑platform planning, digital activation and ad intelligence.
• Demonstrated capability in C‑suite relationship management, partner negotiation and industry representation.
• Strong track record in team building, performance management and organisational leadership.
