Engineering Manager – Design Lead

About the role

Ausenco is expanding its APAC Africa business into South Australia and is looking for an Engineering Manager (Design Manager) to lead mineral processing projects in Adelaide. You will oversee all engineering and design activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring technical excellence and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee engineering and design aspects of mineral processing projects, including conceptual design, feasibility studies and detailed engineering for Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing technical expertise, guidance and mentorship to meet project objectives and schedules.
• Take responsibility for technical approval and sign‑off of engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering, functional managers and clients to define scopes, ensure compliance with regulations and deliver customized solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in an industrial process or mineral processing EPCM environment, with proven leadership in engineering design.
• Track record of delivering complex projects from concept to completion, focusing on safety, quality and client satisfaction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team and stakeholder management.
