Engineering Business Manager - Mining

About the role

The Engineering Business Manager – Mining will drive specification‑led growth for Solmax’s geosynthetic solutions across the Australian mining sector. You will work closely with engineers, consultants and contractors to embed geosynthetics at the design stage of critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with civil/geotechnical consultants, mining engineers, asset owners and key contractors.
• Influence design specifications, scopes and engineering standards to embed Solmax solutions from concept through detailed design.
• Provide advanced technical guidance for Tailings Storage Facilities, heap leach pads, evaporation ponds, water management structures, haul roads and working platforms.
• Deliver value‑engineering proposals that improve cost, constructability and performance.
• Conduct technical presentations and workshops for consultants and owners.
• Interpret and apply standards such as ANCOLD and GRI.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of mining projects, converting specifications into revenue.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies to inform product development.

Required profile

• Proven experience influencing engineering specifications in the mining or civil‑construction sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of business development and revenue growth.
• Ability to engage early in project lifecycles and build trusted technical partnerships.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
